Our Trip to the zoo

Today we all went to the zoo. It was fantastic! We learned about endangered animals and we walked around the zoo looking at all the animals. Unfortunately the weather was so bad, we had to come back to school early because the zoo closed for health and safety reasons. (Maybe trees would fall on us in the storm...)

Here is a link to the Zoo's campaign against Palm Oil: Don't Palm Us Off

Palm Oil is produced by trees that are grown in plantations. To grow the trees, native rainforests are cut down. Thousands of animals lose their homes every day because humans cut down the trees to grow palm oil plantations.

If you visit the zoo site you can find a shopping list of things that don't use palm oil. If you don't buy products that use palm oil, then you force humans to use ingredients that don't affect endangered species.
